why so expensive?

time for a little rant.

why does a Smarty have to be so darn expensive? i would love to get a Smarty so i can adjust for tire size, add some power, and the high idle feature, but they are so dang expensive. you wouldnt think that a programmer that just re-flashes the ecm woulld be as expensive as one that adds power and monitors the vital engine parameters. i would almost have to sell my other car to afford one. ITS A CONSPIRACY I TELL YA!!!!!!

ok, gotta go. rant over.

Do you know how many YEARS it take to develop a programmer? The cost of the hardware & software are minor. It's the development costs that you are paying for.

Kinda like paying $5.50 for a #6 at Burger King. $.55 worth of food, $1.00 for the paper, $3.95 to the store owner in gross profit.

well a tst is about the same price. I would say they have spent money in building these products to make them safe and dependable for your truck. why dont you buy one from the classifieds instead of paying full price

Its as simple as this :

If you think that it isn't worth the price than don't buy it.
If you think it's worth it and don't have the money, save up for it like I had to do.

Also there isn't any other comparable device out on the market that has all the features of and is capable of doing the things that it does.

IMO its worth every penny. Speaking from experience

i see your point. i think it was more of being irritated that i cant afford one right now more than anything. if i put back $100 per week i could afford one in a little over a month.
