Who Wants to "TEST" my EZ?

I am in no way bashing Edge Products, but this is my situation:

I am currently in a wee-wee contest with Edge over my THIRD EZ. They have all three gone bad in less then a year. The first two just quit making power, and the last (and current) one made the truck miss. I sent it back and they tested it and said it was good. I put it back on, and not only did it still miss, but it started setting the P-1689. Each time, the truck would run fine when the EZ was unplugged. Always had good connections with dielectric grease. Now here's the bummer.....their invoice date on the pervious time I sent it in was 8/9/05, but they say its build date is 5/24/04....thus, making it out of warranty by about two weeks when I last sent it in. I would think the warrenty would start when they sent it back and said it was good.

I would like to find someone around the Dallas area to hook it up on ther truck for awhile and see how it does. It could be that my truck just doesn't like Edge products or I have another problem. Either way, I would like to find out. It will work on the 98.5 to 2000 models.

If you had a 2001+ truck...i would help you out......

But i can say that we don’t extend our wnty on repair unit just because we fix em and send them back (Unless other wise stated). I know it sucks...but a line has to be drawn somewhere......

Im sure you can find someone to help you test it.......

Small world Dan....I was just thinking about calling you.

I understand about drawing the line on the warranty. My bad....when they sent the last one back, I understood it was a new one and didn't check the build date. If I would have sent it back at the first sign of trouble, it would have still been in warranty.

Just your humble opinion, do you think I have another problem? You know that with 180K + that I have been a little worried about the VP44, but now I'm not sure.

Your VP might be just weak enough that with the ez it acts up but without it it's fine. I'd be more than happy to try it out on my truck. A TST/Smarty/EZ stack would be interesting.

I've thought about that too...... I guess a trip to Johnson City and back with the loaded stock trailer and bed might tell the tell.

Let's see now....TST/Smarty/EZ/SuperTuner/Drag Comp/Quad Box/etc....yes, that would be interesting.

Tyler......you are a 2001 also......his EZ wont fit!

Charlie....my advice...run as long as you can stock...and see if the issue pops its head. You have to give it some time....might be a month or so......my suggestion......then we will go from there......

You have been soo eager to replace that VP-44 so many times.....do i have to talk you out of it again! haha........

I've never had Shiner, I'll take that bet.

98-2000 used different MAP sensor voltages than 2001-2002.

Adaptor would let it plug in, but it wouldn't work right.

You'll have to settle for 3.2% Coors Light or Keystone, can't get Shiner in these parts.

At least I don't think I've seen it.

What can I say? With 180K +, it truley weighs heavily on my mind. I just can't stand the thought of being dead on the side of the road.
