White Soot on exhaust tip
White Soot on exhaust tip
I installed a new 5 inch exhaust the other day because the old system was getting pretty rusty. Anyway, when I got home tonight I went back to admire my nice new stainless steel exhaust tip. When I looked at it I noticed a film over it so I went inside and got a paper towel and some windex. When I looked closer I noticed it was white soot and not black. So my question is, could I have a bad injector, or is it something else? I also noticed tonight on my way home that from 1500rpm to about 2300rpm it pulls very nice but after 2300 or 2400rpm it feels like stock again. I know that it starts to de-fuel at 2700rpm. It almost feels like it is starting to de-fuel at 2300rpm if that makes any sense. It is also much more noticable in 4th and 5th gears. TIA for the help.
No matter how hard I try, I cant get the pyro to go over 1000* empty. When I am loaded, it can get up to 1100*. I never would have even thought about the coatings on the new exhaust. Thats why I love this place!! I cleaned it off and I will report back in a couple days. What about the de-fueling problem? Could it be in the VA box, or is it something else? Anyone have this before or am I the first? Thanks again
