How can I mount 2007 wheels on my 1998.5 4x4 ?

some wheels wont bolt onto the drum dana 80 axles, my friend got stung on a $600 set from craigs list that came off a newer ctd but wouldnt fit over his drums

Dodge is still 8x6.5". 00-02 aluminum rims were a bit thicker and wouldn't fit over the drums on the earlier trucks that only ever came with steel wheels. 17" wheels have no problem like that.
