Whats the best way to?

Whats the best way to get smoke out of a 12v safely? All I plan on doing is straight pipe, filter, timing, and injectors probably remove the plate too. What is a good, safe size injectors for smoke? Also is there another way to get smoke safely? And what is a silencer ring I keep hearing about? Thanks a lot

Matt

A new fuel plate, bigger injectors, straight pipe, air filter, and timing. That should give you the smoke your looking for. You can also adjust the star wheel. That should give you smoke.

With those mods how would my auto tranny hold up? Or, should I do the mods to my 5 spd work truck if it will hold up better? Also whats a safe size of injectors that will give me a good amount of smoke?

Want mostly smoke don't really need a lot of power. I love seeing smoke pouring out.

Must be what it means by "junior" member. Sorry...couldn't resist.

Just put a smoke bomb in the tailpipe.

OK if you just want smoke, loosen the four bolts on the afc housing, slide it all the way forward. Turn the star wheel towards the engine untill it stops. You should have plenty of free smoke then.

My 94 dodges Torque Converter slips with just a plate, so I wouldnt reccomend more than that on a stock auto. It smokes really good though in my opinion, but only if you have the TC locked up. It doesent smoke much without the TC locked up.

I think I'm gonna try DZLPWR's advice first and see how much I can get then. It seems kind of pointless to spend a lot of money on injectors/plates etc. when I have no use for all the extra power.

You may want to get some gauges to see what that SMOKE is doing to your egts . I wouldnt recomend fully removing the plate , too many horor stories. You could simply slide it forward and cut your AFC spring in half. That will give you PLENTY of smoke .

When I want to smoke...
I hook up a trailer, head to high elevation on a hot day and turn on the A/C.

Once I'm in the high desert in the summer with a trailer, I can blot out the sun if I give it lots of skinny pedal (but not so much as to force a downshift).

What year 12V? Som esmoke alot more than others. There are many HP ratings of the 12V motor. From 145HP to 215.

To get smoke when starting off, Lossen the AFC housing spring.

It's an allen head plug on top, and towards the rear of the pump. Unscrew the allen plug (it wil be seated tightly) and just take a small head screwdriver, and click the "star wheel" towards the motor a ton of clicks (about 20+), or untill the spring looses it's tension. Tighten the plug back up, then get into the truck, start it, put it in gear, now ROMP on the fuel for a couple seconds (Just go WOT) and you should get a fair sized puff.

Adjusting the AFC ONLY will give you better response, and minimal HP.
