What type of compressor do you run for your train horns

I bought a set of train horns for my truck about a month ago The bearing in the compressor that came with them blew apart and then i replaced it and the whle piston connecting rod blew apart into a bunch of metal fragments. Im trying to find a compressor that will work to run them, and mabe even run air tools. btw i have a 96 as seen in my sig....

A lot of people love the Viair compressors. They seem to be the most heard about. What compressor were you running with the horns, and where did you get it? just curious as I was tempted to get some off of e-bay company and wondering if it was the same brand/people

i got mine from ebay!!! the horns are if you ar getting the three stacked toether, and th compressor/tank was a commair600 i think. I would recomend just getting the horns from ebay and then a different compressor. Mine brok in a day with the bearing failure then i replaced i with a stronger brand of bearing and it blew the connecting rod into peices......
my dad drive an 18 wheeler and he gonna see if the repair shop has anyoff an old truck he can pick up and ill see if itll work if not il be buying a viair if no one chimes in about a better compressor.

I would love to know the name of the guy or the store name if you know it. It wouldn't be a company called seige engineering would it? I've been looking but keep kicking it around. Right now I have my compressor I use at home sittin in the back seat with the air line running in the cab and I put 2 and 2 together and viola, sound hahaha

im not sure who the seler was but they had many combos up for sale. I like the Horns they sound good but they need a better compressor to run them. I might have just ot a defective compressor but i would recomend to stay away from commair compressors. Ive heard good things about viair and if i dont get one from my dads 18 wheeler then im gonna go with a viair.
ive also thought about inverters and placing a 120v compressor back there but i dont know how long it would last . This is an awful issue. i knew i shoulda went with the dixie horns....

Sullair has a 30 CFM PTO driven screw compressor, that should be enough for a set of train horns.
