What Stage Do I need

I'm heading to ATS to get a new trans. My question is, what stage should I get?

STAGE I
Ats t.c.

STAGE II
above plus valve body

STAGE III
above plus torque commander

STAGE IV
above plus new actual housing

STAGE V
above plus billet shafts

I think I am going to go with the stage III, but I am not for sure on that.

I don't tow all that often and if I do, it's a couple of jeeps on a trailer. I have all the mods in the signature, but I don't want to get too much or too little. I just want my auto to work more crisp than it does now. What should I do?

Thanks guys

My co-worker just got his tranny done in May from ATS and I believe he went with the stage 4.........it ended up costing him over $5K and he only has a billet input shaft and the other 2 are stock and he didn't get the lockup controller. I know his tranny is a brand new housing, but I'm not exactly sure what all they did inside besides the torque converter and the billet input shaft.

I was looking at ATS for trannies but I don't think I'm going to go with them.......but I won't get into that here.

What kind of mods are you looking at doing in the future? That may help us help you pick out the right one.....

I think I'll get injectors at some point, but that's about it... I am more than happy with the truck as is now (except the tranny). I can smoke pretty much anyone around that wants some

Heck if you're only going to do injectors, I'd look at the new T/C and valve body option. I don't really see the need for you getting much more than that unless you were planning on some serious juice later!!

I went with the equivalent of an ATS Stage 4 from DTT, I add power slowly but do not worry about hooking to any trailer or sled for that matter. Do it once, do it right, and enjoy.
