What size injectors?

What size injectors would be safe to use with my setup? I have a 99' dodge 24 valve, an edge comp, 4" exhaust, and a K&N intake kit. I don't normally tow at all, but there are lots of hills in my area. Would increasing the injector size decrease engine life?

you didn't say what tranny you have . 275's are good, but any thing much bigger will put your clutch or automatic in jeopardy. egt's need to be monaterd at all times especially with any upgrades

I have RV 275's but wish I had Mach 1.6's. I have been told that the 1.6's would be fine with a stock turbo. But trust me the gauges are needed. Keep an eye on your fuel pressure. Is your Comp stock or did you tap the fuel pump wire? If the fuel pump wire is tapped your already looking for trouble running without gauges. Start saving for a trannie upgrade
Good luck,

mvanhelden,

As if you hadn't already heard it but, GET GAUGES first!!!! We sell the 275RV's all the time with the EZ, Comp or van Aaken boxes and it's a great combination for folks that are not looking to really make a crazy hot rod, but want a good economical high torque towing truck that'll make a most cars think twice about a stop light Grand Prix.

I have a 5spd with an already slipping clutch but plan to replace it before i put bigger injectors. Which clutch is good if I plan to stop the mods with injectors?

call Pete at south bend clutches. They offer a upgrade to the 6speed clutch with gives you a 13in instead of the 12.25 clutch that you have. Did it when i had to replace the trans last yr."lost third and fifth all together"

Mx injector size varies with your truck's usage and the driver's discipine. If you can respect what your gauges tell you, you can go bigger.

My truck is a commuter with 150hp injectors and totally controllable smoke.

For most guys, the 1.6s are tough to beat. I got the 4s because I felt they offered more bang/buck, and the smoke is still plenty controllable.

I'm glad I got the 4s. They're pretty efficient too-- I averaged 20mpg on my last long hwy trip, going faster than I care to (80).
