What should i do about head work?

Well my HG hasnt given me and troubles yet but im getting ready to upgrade to an aftermarket cam (probably a Helix2) and have my pump sent off and would like to run at least 20* of timing. Its pretty much a given that my stock HG is gonna give up the ghost with that combo. So im kind of on the fence here about what route to go with my head work. 12mm studs, orings, and a 20 over marine gasket seems to be a pretty popular combo. I feel pretty certain that if done right that combo would be able to hold whatever my SPS62 would be able to throw at it. But..... i know one day that im going to want to upgrade to a bigger charger. Possibly even twins. I only want to do this once and i want to do it right.

I'm curious what kind of numbers you're seeing right now as far as boost/EGT

For a street truck I would go with O-rings, 12mm studs, and the marine gasket. This setup has held over 900 HP for us.

I agree here

Headwork is my next step... There is no gettin around it if you wanna play hard with that truck. Ive gotten lucky so far with mine.. But all lucky streaks dont last forever...

Teddy, just do it man... better to have it as insurance and be able to add fuel to that fire, than do the inverse, which is what ive done...

Theres no question whether im going to get it done or not because i know its just a matter of time before it goes. I just want to make sure i make the right choice the first time through cause its really not somethin that i want to have to worry with later. Ive already got a set of 12mm ARP studs, so i guess i better get to work on the rest of it! Im gonna try my best to get a lil porting done on the head while its off too. IMO the head is one thing that hinders the 12valve the most. The 3rd gen and 24valve heads flow quite a bit better. I noticed on Piers website that a stock 24valve head flows pretty much the same amount of air as one of their stage 2 ported 12valve heads.

On edit: Wheres the best place to get my gasket?
