What shall I do?
Well the yearly bonus fianally came around. I'm not gonna say how much, because you guy will try to talk me into buying more stuff for my truck and not the CRF250R that I really need.
Anyhow I AM going to get a set of ISSPRO gauges on the pillar (boost, egt and fuel press) and I was thinking about maybe a SMARTY too. Y'all see my sig, it is what it is, is this the direction I should go?

Get a juice with Att, it will have 4 gauges in it plus you can adjust the power on the fly.
I got mine off ebay for 700. totally fun and I have my fuel gauge, boost and egt.
Real fun for the price.

You can't adjust power on the fly with SMARTY? This the stuff I want to know. I know we don't want to abuse our "smoking capabilities" for tree hugger reasons but I do want blow some from time to time. Will edge meet my desires?
Edge will blow enough smoke to leave soot marks and passerby white cars if you want it too. Just lug it a bit with that 5 spd and floor it. Once the turbo spools and your turning some r's it stops smoking but if you put it in 5th when your doing 30, you can fill two lanes with smoke if you stay on it.
I've never owned a smarty, but I can say that I am very happy with my edge chip. You get more for your buck with edge. You can pick up Juice w/ attitude for 600 bucks now on ebay. Smarty is 600 plus and all you get is a module that uploads a program to you ecm. It takes a few minutes and you have to upload a different program everytime you want different power/economy options. I usually drive around on the lowest setting on my edge chip and then every now and then I have to race a ricer who thinks his honda is fast. Four presses of a button and now I have 120 HP on tap. Smarty guys are out of luck. Then five min later I feel conservative again and I go back to fuel saver mode which actually gives less fuel than stock till enough boost is made. Pretty sweet, best upgrade so far, I think! Injectors are next, who knows I may like them better.

I've driven both. The Smarty does have its advantages. It takes 2 minutes to change the programming in your ECM, and it comes with a lot of benefits. For instance, on level 0 it cuts your truck's power in half. Let the kid use it for his date, and you can keep him out of trouble. With the updated software it also gives you the cold weather high idle and 3 cylinder idle. You can read trouble codes by number AND in plain language (and you can clear them). And, it's especially helpful if you're still under warranty because you can load up level 1 (stock settings) and take it to the dealer for warranty work and they can't tell anything's been fooled with. Also, You can stack the Smarty with any other performance box.
With the Edge, I have a comp in my truck and I love it. If you're still under warranty I don't recommend tapping the pump wire. If you're not, then go for it, but when you do solder the connection. Without the pump wire you won't get anything over level 2. That'll give you about 60hp. Once you tap the wire you'll get the full 120. I love the quick adjustability of it, and being able to turn it off when I run across the fuzz. The Smarty is a little better in the low end, but I've never been disappointed with my Edge comp. I can smoke the competition in more ways than one.
All that being said the Juice with attitude will do the same thing as a comp with gauges. I like the analog gauges because I can "read" them with my peripheral vision, whereas with a digital display I would have to take my eyes off the road to focus on the display if even for a second. I have Isspro gauges on my A pillar currently along with Isspro's turbo timer (keeps the engine running until exhaust temp drops below 300 degrees). My 3 gauges (EGT, boost, FP) along with that turbo timer do everything that the Juice with attitude does, but with the benefits I stated before.
As for cost. If you don't have gauges or anything yet, the Juice with attitude will be cheaper out the door. If you already have gauges, it would be cheaper to go with the comp and the turbo timer. When you make your decision keep in mind both convenience and the amount of time you'll be paying attention to the control box to adjust AND to read the gauges.
Just my .02....though it seems to be more like a dime by now.

EDIT: I haven't had any experience with the TST comp. Could somebody else chime in?

IMO, if you are only going to do one power upgrade to your truck and you are out of warranty then the juice w/attitude is the way to go. However if this is only the beginning then the Smarty/TST combo can't be beat. You can start with the Smarty until out of warranty and then add the TST. I leave my Smarty on level 9 all the time, there is no reason to bump it down if that is the only power adder you have, it is totally streetable and towable on level 9 and when you want the power it's already there, not even 4 buttons to push, plus it also adds all the other capabilities that have already been stated.

Just the fact of being able to adjust on the fly I would go with a Juice w/ Attitude. It depends on your preference too. I like the look of gauges, I am spending more for my set up of ISSPRO's with RV275's and Edge EZ but I feel the benefits are worth it for towing.
If you are wanting the gauges and the top end power for cheap, then the Juice is what you want. I have the Smarty/TST Comp set up and I love it. The Smarty isnt about power like the juice, it's all about drivability. the smarty will make your truck drive like a 12valve. you puch the peddal and it gives the fuel now, not waiting for the computer to do it's thing. I'd say to find someone close to you that has a smarty and give it a try. takes all of 2 m inutes to load and see what you think. I haven't met someone yet who has tried a smarty and then not wanted it. oh, you are at the right site, there is alot of knowlege here.
Just drive a truck with a smarty and you'll see what the guys mean about drivability.Personally I would do the smarty with a set of isspro guages.Once youve grown out of it ,stack a tst powermax on it

Think speedo calibration.
