Question What Next?

I have a 98 24v 2500. I have the AFE intake and straight pipe 4" exhaust (turbo- back....& yeah it's loud!) My question is...."What next?" I tow two jeeps on a 30' trailer and I live in CO (mountains) I want the power to tow up the hill with no problem, and still be able to drive it daily. Any info or suggestions? Thanks guys!

It has 110,000 on it. I haven't checked it ever. Is the basic one the edge EZ and the other is the comp box? How much will it give me without piercing the wire?

Why buy the comp if you're not going to pierce the wire. The only time you would play with the settings on the Edge Ez box is if you're going to add injectors and want to control smoke. Max fueling at higher boost.

If you're going to pierce the pump wire then get the comp.

You can make you own test gauge or try to find a Briar Hopper test gauge.
I bought mine from ADT for $35.00, I didn't see them on the site. You can call Doug. I'm not sure but I think the 98 had the brass test ports on the fuel filter canister.

So should I pierce the wire or not? Anyone out there with a 98 24v auto and done any of this to your truck? How's it working? What would you do differently? Thanks for the help, you guys are awesome!!

All I've added is an EZ and gages and mine pulls fine. The most I've pulled so far is about 3k, but I could hardly tell it was back there. If your going to use it for a daily driver and not a hot rod, be careful how much you add.

You need to fill in your sig. If you have an auto, you have to be more careful.

Use the search button CODodge...you'll be overwhelmed with information.

I'm in Colorado and tow at a 18,500 combined weight.

I run the EZ and found it really improves the 24 valve bottom end grunt for towing. Here's what I've found running my rig in the Rockies;

You NEED an EGT gauge, it'll run very hot towing uphill, so keep it at or below 1250* with your throttle foot.

I run the EZ on button #2 to control the smoke starting out at intersections (6 spd)

You need a fuel pressure gauge so you can see WHEN your lift pump dies.

From what I see on this site, the COMP box is for the racers, and the EZ is for the haulers. The COMP box, especially with the wire tapped, will run WAY too hot to tow with, and will need to be dialed down to EZ levels anyway.

As you can see from my sig, I have very much the same truck. I have not gone wild with my truck, but it is set up to pull. The best money I spent on the truck was the DTT trans, you would be amazed how much power a stock diesel has. Then you can pierce the wire, add injectors, and a bigger turbo. Just my .02.
