What more do I need?

Ok guys, I would like some input here please. I have a 2000 dodge dually, long bed quad, auto trans, 354 rear end. . I have put a k&n airbox, edge comp, dtt's vb and tq in, and I still have a truck that runs just ok. I really thought after spending this amount of money my truck would be something....Not! A friend said I could run a superchip and not put this other stuff in and get way better results...So after all this time and money, here are the problems I have..
1. Now the truck cuts out like it has a fuel problem...(ran injector cleaner and water remover in it with no results)
2. The trottle goes from easy to push to a stiffer push?
3. After installing the tq and vb from dtt, the only diff I see is the shift is later in the rpm range. t does not shift harder, nor does the truck run any better...wow, and this was about $1700...

any ideas would be greatly appreciated....

I'm betting your fuel pump or injection pump is dying if the truck is cutting in and out. I put just the DTT vb in mine and can tell the difference. I'd have the tranny checked out.

Agreed! The DTT upgrades should make a BIG difference. Was it installed by a DTT shop? Setting pressures and balancing system are critical; can be tricky for the unfamiliar.
I don't see a direct connection between the throttle problem and the tranny upgrades?

The tranny has 42 k on it and the truck has been baby'ed from birth so I dont't think that is an issue. I installed the vb, which was a cake walk. Also installed the upgraded spring and servo's. The kick down works fine....Not sure what happended to the pedel. It is weird as it started out much easier to push and goes back to the normal feel in and out? Also, I started noticing the truck acting like it wants to cut out a few weeks after installing the Edge comp...Will DTT's RASP system fix this?...AS I stated, I really thought these upgrades would make this truck come out of the hole allot stronger but that is not the case...

You need to check for DTC's and get the fuel pressure checked......don't do any more mods until you get some gauges. I wouldn't bother doing anything else until these things are checked.

The Superchips tuner is limited in it's power capability by nature.....there really isn't much point in comparing it to a Comp since the Comp is at the other end of the spectrum in that it offers one of the largest gains of any plug in fueling module available for a 2nd gen.

By far, the best and most effective way to increase low rpm/low boost fueling is to get the Smarty programmer by MAD electronics. No other mod will have as large an increase in bottom end power gains.

Is the wire tapped? The comp box tapped will net much larger gains than an superchips. The connection could be bad and its just running in ez mode or the pump could be dying. If the pumps good try a blue chips pump cover for the comp.

I did tap the wire and don't see that much diff from settings 1-5..Also, the problem with it cutting out is the same with the box turned on or off. I'm gonna change the fuel filter today and try to get the gauges in by this weekend....

Don't forget to check for DTC's too. If the engine is cutting out with the Comp turned off, there could be a VP44 problem.....check those codes!

You need to check the wire tap connection on the VP44 for the Comp....it sounds like it is only operating in EZ mode......you should notice a massive difference in power from level 1 to 5.

Whoops.....sorry....just noticed that post......"DTC" is short for Diagnostic Trouble Code. These are the engine fault codes that the ECM and PCM store to help diagnose problems with in the electronic engine management system.
