What more for 15 sec 1/4?

Right now i'm running between 16.2 and 15.9 in a 1/4 mile run. My little brother just bought an 03' Accord V6 that according to factory specs will run 15 flat @ 94 MPH and 6.4 ish 0-60. What more do I need to beat him in a race? My best 0-60 is a slow 7.9 sec. I am working on my boosted launches but these siped 315's bite hard and usually bog down the mighty cummins at launch. I don't even have traction problems in 2wd.

I was thinking about some Jammer 3's , 4's, or 5's. I think I can still run my stock turbo permanently with 3's and will need a future turbo upgrade to run 4's or 5's. Some day when I'm rich I'll get some Machs and a Silver Bullet.

So, What do I need to do to beat an 03' Accord on the street. His car weighs a measly 3400# and 240 bhp.

With the little mods you have you should be able to be a little deeper in the 15's but the thing that is killing you is your transmission. Sticks are slow in these trucks. It also really hurts not building boost at the line but unless you have a dual disk I don't recommend it. Also, you should have no problems at all spinning those 35's. My buddy with a slipping clutch on 40's can spin his with ease. Try bringing the RPM's up more before you launch. I'd say bring them up to 2000 and then dump the clutch in 4hi.

Ummmm, don't do a boosted launch on a single disk, it is just asking for problems. Boosted launches are for dual disks or autos.
My truck on 33's ran a 14.9 with a 35/40 hybrid but to realistically get under a 15 et you need a bigger turbo. You CAN do it on a stock turbo but by the end of the quarter your engine will be on the toasty side.
I would say on your current path, get some bigger injectors and a bigger turbo. The Jammers are cheap but are seriously overrated. A HX-40 will work and is cheap but you would be best off with a 62/12 or 62/14.

I can chirp my tires with a 2000 rpm dump, And I'm a little scared at 2700, it has around 3psi boost at 2700 and today when I tried it, seemed as if this ceramic clutch slipped some. Maybe just quiet tire spin but it scared me to think about all those expensive parts under there. I know, I know you gotta pay to play. How much time would I shave if I added another 50 Hp? 100HP?

If I had an auto, do I have enough power to run 15 flat right now?? Say 4 psi boosted launch with just a VB and TC upgrade??

I hope you mean in 4hi because if you can only chirp the tires with a 2 grand dump in 2wd you have something wrong, unless you are trying it in 3rd or 4th. Best launch is going to be a 4wd 2nd gear launch. Rev it up to 2200 or so and don't "dump" it, much less a quick engague. Then a quick shift to 3rd and off to the races.

Your hx35 is only good to about 350hp, maybe 400hp. Yes you can run it higher but it's really choking your truck at that point. Adding more fuel without air only works to a certain point. After that you start choking your engine with to much fuel and it can actually hurt your performance. And if all you can do is chirp your tires from a 2000rpm dump then either your not doing it right or your truck is seriously messed up cause a 2000rpm dump in 2wd and 2nd gear should boil those tires with ease.

Yes we know yours does. And then shortly there after the clutch starts sending out a larger smoke cloud than the tires.

Have either of you ran aired down buckshot mudders that were siped? They hook up! Back when I had my old slick michelin 265's, I could boil them uncontrollably in third when I mashed it and the turbo lit. If I started a burn out in second, it would last through a shift to third and stop halfway through fourth. That was with just a comp, no RV's. And I honestly think that the JUICE fuels harder on the bottom than my comp did. Not trying to argue, just saying that I don't have traction problems, just launch problems.

So How much HP does it take to push an auto into the 14's??

Big Blue24 I'm in the 14's with no boosted launch and with a boosted launch I'm into the high 13's if not better. I'd say about 450hp will put an auto nicely into the 14's. And no I haven't ran siped buckshot mudders with low pressures but I have run other 315/75/16 with low pressures on 10" wide rims and I can still boil them to the ground. Thebignasty can have 10psi in his 40's that are 14.5" wide and boil them to the ground.

Maybe you should try a ¼ mile run with nitro methane.

My brother knows about my nitro experiment, he won't race me with nitro in the tank!

I am running really low 15's, or high 14's right now, and I figure I have 330hp or so. That is with an 8-10 psi launch in 4wd.

Oh, and Id like to know how that 97 F-159 will spin 315 buckshots... I drove one for a while where I worked for a while, and it was the sickest thing I have ever seen. It wouldnt even think of spinning the stock tires on blacktop
