Well I need to order up my gasket today (marine) and I am wondering what thickness to get. The head is going to be resurfaced but I don't know how much it is off. I am guessing a couple thousanths is what they are going to take off.

the head is flat, as in no combustion chamber, it is in the piston. so there is no real need to get a oversize gasket unless you had the block decked or you wanted to lower the compression. i had a buddie go to cummins the other day to get a marine head gasket and they said they have all been superceted to one standard gasket. might be bs but that is what they said. i know you could still get them in 10, or 20k over stock thickness.
