Exclamation What does this mean for EDGE Products?

I was just doing my morning browsing and found a thread on another site. It was stating that Superchips has purchased Edge Products!!!

What is this going to do for Edge? IMHO they had the most reliable products with the most consistent output while on the other side, Superchips was a cheap alternative to any diesel product (I threw them in with air fresheners and fuzzy dice..LOL.)..

Is this going to make Edge better?? Whats on the horizon???? Is this all BULL???...I am hoping for some good conversation...

Fair enough..Sorry to hear that. I guess I have been used to the old school EZ and Comps, not so much the new stuff.

Edge used to have good reliability, but since 03 or so, quality has sucked. Figure a year between replacements.

Given the rate of growth, I would have expected Edge to buy Superchips, not the other way around.

I have heard the Edge reliability problems started when the bean counters there decided to start making product in China. Prior to the Chinese boxes, the reliability was stellar.

Time and time again, when the unscrupulous and global/community/one-world type companies go to Communist china for manufacturing, the quality becomes deplorable. And nobody ever speaks up. We have just become accustomed to the normal level of junk sold in bulk at WalMart and Target. Its up to the consumers of the world to put their collective foot down and refuse to stand for the inrush of Communist Chinese junk.

You still cant buy a freaking Cuban Cigar due to trade restrictions with communist Cuba, but all is ok by trading with the communist dictatorship of China. What a disgrace for freedom and what this country was supposed to stand for. So extremely painful and inexplicably sad for the family members of all our sons who died or are now physically and/or mentally maimed from fighting communism in Vietnam to see our country now openly accept and trade with communist China.

In case your wondering, yes, it happens to be my personal opinion that at a minimum we are all funding our own economic demise when it comes to trading with China, and in reality we are probably funding our own eventual funeral.

I too would not touch Edge stuff made since 02. Last EZ I bgt (before Smarty) took me 3 months to find. It was actually a Tow Pro from BD, (a renamed EZ) made by Edge in 2000, and made in the USA. Worked great!

So I am guessing since this thread sank faster than the Titanic, that no-one really give a flip... That is surprising to me anyway..

Thanks for those that posted...

I guess I got lucky. I bought a used BD Power Comp box and so far I haven't had a single issue with it. No clue when it was made. My last comp box I bought new in 01 and only had to send it back once for a surging problem.
