what for 450 hp?

Well, I think im going to do it. 450 is my goal. i have a good idea what i need, but i want ideas.
I was thinking,

new auto tranny, from gorend brothers
new 370 injectors
up the timming to like 17 deg.
number 10 fuel plate
O ring head with bigger studds
bigger turbo, but i dont know what? thats where i need help
HD valve springs
fix the kdp
im doing banks twin ram, but not for power, its cause i have an EGR that i dont want there.
ATS 3 section manifold also because of the ERG
delivery valves
4 in turbo back is done already
i have a BHAF on now, but i want a scotty II
gauges, boost, pyro, tranny temp

And off on the side, i just want to add i plan on a 2.5 or 4.5 inch lift with tires. and i have 3.54 gears in now.

Let me know about what turbo and where to set my timming keep in mind i want clean power so my pyro temp dont go way up if i tow. I do tow, but not very offten. I have alot of time till it all goes on, but i have started a place to save for money and i have 750 bucks so far now, i want to spend about no more than 10 grand on motor and tranns stuff. And no i dont want twins. LOL i mean i want them but i have told myself NO. LOL
thanks for anny tipps.

one thing you might want to look at is a 3kgsk along with the stuff you got on this list . im not a 12vavle guy but i see alot of them using this kit to keep it from defueling arond 2700 rpm . if you arent thinking of twins why do you want to oring and stud the head . also if you got the head of why not port and polish

Good advice on the GSK - you will definitely need it......for 450 hp, I would skip the #10 plate and do a #100 or a #0.....I prefer the #100 but lots of guys like the #0.....17* timing would be a great starting point for timing at 450 hp.....add a set of 191 dv's to really fuel those 370's to their full potential....If the budget allows, a KSB-1 or similar would be the best turbo, but a hybrid 35/40 will work with 450 hp if you are mindful of the pyro gauge.....

And start saving for a full DTT or ATS tranny!....The motor will be pumping over 1000 ft/lbs and a "mild" tranny job will NOT last!

If you don't want to have to stare down your egt gauge, go for the twins.

For "only" 450 hp you certainly don't "need" twins to easily keep egt's in check......A B1 would have no problem easily handling 450 hp worth of fuel, I was just throwing out some suggestions on some more cost-effective alternatives such as a 35/40 hybrid......I'm doing it with a 16cm HX35 and I would love to go bigger but the wallet has pretty much run dry for my 94!

you don't need to o-ring the head save your money and buy a cam, a marine gasket and some studs would work fine with a single turbo

I ran 400 rwhp with a HX35-16 and it was very hot, 460 rwhp with a PDR HX40-16 an it was hot could touch 1500* at 42 psi, at somewhere around 550 rwhp( just guessing, haven't been on a dyno with twins yet) with twins egts max 1300* with blowoff valves set at 60 psi.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, my combo is HOT!.....I have to be very mindful of the pyro at WOT but just hot doggin' around and door slammin' some non-believers is no problem! I would not suugest my turbo is the best way to go.....just the most affordable.....

Well, i was thinking about a 4000 GSK, i know i need at least a 3000 GSK. So with a KSB-1 i should be fine with pyro temps? I dont want to ever need to watch the pyro except when pulling at the truck pulls. And what about O- ringing the head? should I? again i dont want to worry about it. thanks for the help guys

don't look at the pyro when pulling those are just exhaust temps not cylinder temps just get a marine gasket and haisley studs

Think about o-rings at 50-55 psi....if you peak at 50 psi and aren't running rediculously advanced timing, the head gasket will be ok, studs are always a good idea, though.....I would expect a KSB1 to be boosting around 42-45 psi for 450 hp....you definitely won't have an egt issue with that turbo at 450 hp....

I was just thinking that if im going to put on studs and a better head gasket why dont I just O-ring it while the head is off. I think im going to have the shop do the studs, head gasket and timming, how much will it run me to O-ring it? If I can get away with not doing it thats great but i use this truck everyday and cant afford to have down time over a head gasket. And when you say marine gasket do you mean the copper ones? Where do I find a #100 plate or #0? im guessing I need to make one with a grinder and a smooth hand? thanks for the help guys

Plate grinding is not that hard at all! Do a search for Gunracer's posts and pics - good pics and info.....
No one sells a #0 or #100 that I know of but wouldn't be surprised if anyone did.....You can grind the plate yourself without much trouble.....I can grind and smooth a #100 in about 20 minutes....
