Well it's not invincible

I was driving a long today and I went to pass somebody and I gave it about 3/4 throttle in 2nd gear which on my truck does nothing but make noise. So I flip the lockup switch and never back out of the throttle and the second the converter locked the truck started shuttering badly. So now it's time to get on the dyno and see how much power it took to finally get the converter shuddering.

3/4 throttle, thats not enough. You have to show that tranny who the boss is, lay the pedal on down.

BigBlue, On another post in the 24 valve non performance forum you had a problem with the truck surging. What did you do to fix that?

Not sure yet. I was playing around with the TST tonight (turned on 9) and everytime I'd roll into the throttle it would shutter bad. Ooops.

You could always pull the inspection cover and see if the TC has signs of excessive heat... When mine was stock, I thought it was the TC that was slipping and shuddering, and it actually turned out to be the OD. Then again...if the patient it dead, do you really care what it died of? Just think how nice it will be that the tires slip with every gear shift instead of the tranny!

Oh I'm sure it does. I seem to have a bad habit suddenly develop with my left and right foot wanting to play with the pedals together.

Well I talked to my mom and she's gonna loan me what I lack to get it built. Now the bad news, my tranny guy is going in for back surgery on monday and will be down for 2-3 weeks so I've gotta wait that long before it can get built. So it looks like the TST is coming off, smarty is going to boost fooling only, and I get to run around on injectors for 3 weeks. I tried playing with it this morning on the way to work and it won't hold anything over half throttle with the TST on. I wonder if changing the tranny fluid caused it to go out? Hmmm. Yup. I blame the fluid. See kids, proof that neglecting your truck does pay off.
