My BHAF AFE needs a bath. Are all washes created the same or do I need something exotic and expensive?

 

Did mine with my K&N wash, and oil.
I think the products marketed by K&N and (likely, as I have not used theirs), AFE do a better job of releasing the oil than Simple Green, or something similar.
I like Simple Green, but not for this task.

 

I have been using hot water and dish washing soap for years and it seems to do fine. Just let it dry, and oil lightly,and even.
