Warranty with Big Line Kit

I read the other day that the VP and LP are covered under the 100k mi warranty. First off, is this true? Second, would the addition of a big line kit and aux pusher pump void this warrarty? I know that chips/boxes void this warranty thats why I removed mine before each visit. Anybody know? Thanks

The big line kit would help your pumps but Dodge likes to use any excuse to get out of warranty repairs. Keep it stock or pay your self!

my personal experience is that my warranty covered my truck with many mods installed...but i bought it that way from the dealer used.

it had a FASS with big line kit, a banks ottomind tuner and some other goodies. i took the intake out more for fear of how young techs and helpers can be...by stealing a $200 intake to sell and putting a stock piece back in there.

when i picked my truck up i had a $0 balance to pay and the tech even told me they cut all the banks wires which was hard wired into the pump connections and told me to just pull it all out when i got the chance.

Big Line Kit and pump should not void waranty. But some dealers may elect to see it differently. You've got enough dealers in your area so it should not be a problem.
I would ask the service manager at my dealership...before changing things. Worked for me, in the beginning. Get his assurance the rest of the power train will still be covered. They should be willing to work with you as much as possible...it's in their best interest to do so.!

Pusher pump will eliminate need for lift pump. I don't recommend using both in line. Some, like the FASS provide bigger lines and can save you the cost of the big line kit. Will still want to get Curved AN fittings.
Good luck!

Funny this just came up, My Pusher and Big Line kit just went on Sunday. I was thinking the same thing, as I lay under my truck with my entire right shirt sleeve covered in Diesel. Since my warranty is up in Janurary and the fact that I just got my VP and LP replaced under warranty less than 5K ago I figured I would go ahead and do it.
That would be sad if they didn't cover someone because of that Kit. I am showing 15psi at idle and can't get it lower than 13psi WOT.
Keep in mind, this basically a stock truck so far (BHAF, 4" exhaust) I assume it will drink more when I get injectors and the Van Aaken, but doubt it will pull down to any un-safe range with "reasonable",(removeable before Dealer visit) mods.

If your mod causes the failure then warrenty is void for that repair such as comp and VP. I can't imagine how a big line kit would cause a failure- unless they claimed your lines were providing too much fuel

My dealer tried to void my lift pump warranty because of my fuel pressure gauge. They said it caused the lift pump to fail.

Uh, yeah. Sounds like they'll try just about anything? I can see how a GAUGE could cause a pump failure. You know, with the .00000125 psi drop having it inline causes.

Ya. Then they told me that if I put an amp on my sound system they would void my warranty for that also.

Like others have said, if you are still under warranty talk to the service manager BEFORE doing any mods. That being said, if your dealer will void your warranty for putting big fuel lines on - find yourself another dealer because they ovbiously know nothing about the CTD.

It would be VERY interesting to hear their explanation of how LARGER fuel lines (within reason of course) could lead to the early demise of a fuel system.

I had very similar thoughts to the rest of you, except for asking the dealerhip before the install. Thanks for the idea. So does that mean that the VP and LP are covered under the 100k mi warranty?

Yes! Many have received warranty replacements for both w/i 100,000 miles.

Edit - 3:10 pm - CH; Found this on another thread; just happened last week to another 02 CTD!

"I sent my truck to dealer yesterday as it is approaching 100,000 mi. had him check over LP and IP. Called me later in the afternoon said LP was going south and was going to cost me almost $600.00 to replace LP with the new setup. I said isn't that covered by the warranty? He said no ...... Had to end up calling Chrysler and .... the lady on the other end was very nice and got the work done under warranty. She called the service manager herself and took care of this."
