Want better mpg and lower avg EGT? TRY MACH 4s?!?!?!

I can't believe it. There's simply no way a 150hp injectors can be easily street driven, right? They smoke like nuts, right?

Well, the most amazing thing with the Mach 4s over the DD2s is the smoke threshold. I could drive my DD2 smokelessly, but it took a little concentration.

With the Mach 4s, you can accelerate normally without worry about smoke! Granted, your "normal" will a little quicker after putting them in, but smokeless acceleration is easily achieved.

That said, they WILL smoke if you want! LOTS OF IT! Just mash it at too- low rpm and you can almost put the fire out.

These are JUST what I was looking for smoke-wise-- *I* control the smoke. The throttle is more sensitive (of course), but it's about the same as the 75hp injectors with an EZ set on most aggressive. I have NO other fueling mods at this point (sold the box).

So, I'm testing them with JUST the M4s, no box, no boost fooler, no nothing. Well, nothing besides my super-duper PowerCore BHAF

At steady cruise, EGT is about 50-100 degrees cooler. Get into the pedal, and they race higher-- very quickly. But I can still get up to 70mph before the temps hit 1400.

Some other notes:

-- boost is limited to the stock 21psi, so my results are based on that (WG is NOT blocked).
-- MPG was 20.5 based on a 130 mile hwy jaunt with LOTS of hot rodding and mostly WOT stuff. It appears these will net better mpg over then honed sticks. Same conditions with previous sticks got me about 18.5mpg.
-- Again, truck is setup with NO power chip or boost fooler at this point. (I'm between electronic bombs after selling the EZ and saving for/stewing on what's next)
-- My altitude here is 6000+ feet! Yes, they have fullY controllable smoke AT ALTITUDE.
-- Any hint of lag past 10psi or so is gone--- response is instantaneous. Lotsa fun on the hwy.

These sticks should take me as far as my HO pump will let me go. They should be the last set I ever buy!

Don M and Bob Wagner, thanks for being patient with me! Don, these are the best streetable sticks I have ever seen! LOVE THEM!

Justin

Now that my tranny is taken care of, I am thinking about Mach 4's to replace my current Mach 1.5's; but that also means a new turbo and so I have been trying to hold off, but it's tempting...

Gracias! Glen as in SW Glen? I know there are a few SW'ers on the diesel forums but have not seen you around. I'm a kinder & gentler dukey around here hehe.

Hey Hohn, next time you're getting on the freeway, roll onto it hard in 4th gear or 5th gear. I'm curious by how much you can out flow the wastegate ... With 120 sticks I was hitting 27psi w/o a fooler or elbow... Never even threw a code .

Mike,

Almost got them finished. The problem the entire time has been parts. I have been back ordered on them for months. Finally I received some parts and I have been working some serious hours to get them knocked out. I apologize for all the delays, but the demand has exceeded the supply and my ability to get them done in a timely fashion.

The first two months of this year we sold more 4, 5 and 6 size injectors than we sold in 18 months previously. A bad thing for speedy delivery and it stressed the small nozzle manufacturer we use to the max. The problem of parts supply is fixed now I cant run out of parts for at least a year.

Don~

Good, If I get the same results as Ray G. with the new hard parts I will be needing a a set of larger injectors for dyno and track use. I'll use the 4s for towing the horses.

I can't outlfow the gate yet, as I have modified mine to gate all 6 cylinders and enlarged the flapper as far as I could take it. My 12 flows like a gated 14 or better (just a guess).

I can get it to momentarily hit 25 just because of the GG hose I have somewhat restricts the WG signal.

When the gate opens, it comes down to 21-22psi and stays there!
