I wouln't pay a penny more for an "performance" pump, but the warranty is money well spent.

Just get a regular old SO pump, they make the same power as all the other pumps out there when you use electronics at a much cheaper price, and are proven unlike some of the newer "performance" pumps. Like stated above, if you want to spend a little extra put it towards a warranty.

I've been lookin at getting a hot rod, maybe from BD or industrial injection. It seams like the hot rod pumps get a better rebuild. I have found it hard to get technical information on anyones pumps, as to what they actually put into the pump when its built and if its built here or overseas.

here's my .02...i went with an II, due to someone on here, who put it on my truck....i love it....i paid right at $1,000 for it (before core charge, which i got back) the SO pump would be the best way to go, unless you plan on making 700+ hp, if you want to make that much i would highly sugest going with a monster pump, not a HRVP... i would get an SO pump and save a few more pennies and just get a set of injectors or timing/fueling box....you'll be happier in the long run like that...

as always IMO

The II HRVP does get a better rebuild and it puts out 80hp more than stock. It is a SO volume pump with HO pressure. Best of both worlds. You may not need injectors or performane box. The HRVP really wakes it up. The HRVP adds extra power over the SO. Those guys who say it doesn't are misinformed.

The standard II pump is a good standard rebuild, only worn parts are replaced.
II HRVP has all new parts and is custom SO/HO pump for more hp.
Blue Chip is stock rebuild with all new parts.
They all 3 have all the updates!
The II HRVP and Blue Chip should last longer.

rick...not real sure if you're refer'n to me on this or not...i didn't mean that the HRVP doesn't do anything, but rather why spend the extra $$ on something that only gives you another 80hp ish,(that's only low end) instead of just save'n the $500+ for the HRVP and get a fueling box that'll give you 100+....but like i said before....IMO and my .02

SO pump!! Don't waste your money on a HRVP. I've ran a SO, HO and a HRVP. I made more top end HP with my SO on my old 01'..
The HRVP woke the bottom end up but dropped off on the top end. I hated the HRVP idle lope but not all of them do it.. A nice set of Mach 4's, bigger turbo, Adrenaline and a SO pump are a killer combo... Hope this helps...

You need to look at it like this:
standard rebuild is $1295 stock HP
Blue Chip is $1600 stock HP
II HRVP is $1900 claim +70-100 HP
so thats only $300 extra for a good pump. Can't buy anything for $300 to get 70-100 hp.

Most guys don't bother with a box after getting the HRVP.
Want more power add a box and be 80+ hp ahead.

reubone1 has a stock truck and the HR pump will give it a kick. Great mod for the extra $300! If he wants all out HP then get the SO,Adrenaline, exhaust, intake, turbo, injectiors etc............ like you say the HRVP puts out SO fuel volume and when thats reached with a built truck it no longer has an advantage, but with stock or up to 400-500 hp it works well.

well i apologize...i haven't looked at II site for awhile...the SO was $1,085 when i got it...

since i'm assume'n most people still plan on bomb'n there trucks to at least 500rwhp the a SO pump would be the prefered pump...or a monster pump...

but yes then, for mild upgrades i would agree 100% with you...

Yeah some of the guys on here want all out HP but the majority with these trucks only add 1 or 2 mods if any. Heck most are still stock.
