uncorking the truck...

I am going to uncork the truck a little, I have been looking at the banks monster exhaust and the afe stage 2 intake, would that uncork the truck. I have thought about a box and injectors but don't want to void the warranty and replace the trans. I realize there is cheaper alternatives, but if you have experience with these components let me know....thanks

I recently did about what you are thinking. Only I went with an EZ, and opened up the stock exhaust (for now), and added a stage 1 with a ProGaurd 7 filter. Sure does make driving it more fun!

With the EZ, you can always take it out for any warranty work. Just unplug it, and put the stock cap back on.

I cut my muffler and resonator out and a shop made me a piece with the double offset and welded it in. Truck runs pretty well.

Now, I'm waiting for my gauges to apppear (UPS) and I'll get them in, then a little tranny work, and I'll return to the exhaust and change it to a 4".

Then I'm done..... promise...... No more...... I'm happy........

You are not going to see much improvement with exhaust and/or intake. You must increase fuel a la fuel box - Edge EZ, Comp, etc. Of course, you need he other mods to go with the box. It all goes together.

Dr. E has it right........fuel is where the power is at.........you won't make more power without adding more fuel. The intake and exhaust are required to support the extra fuel and you won't see much in the way of extra power with the addition of just exhaust and intake enhancements.

The EZ is a great choice for fueling enhancements.......It provides much more torque across the rpm range and makes the truck fun to drive without breaking the bank. It can be disconnected easily for your visits to the dealer and doesn't add enough torque to fry the tranny. You can also run the EZ alone without intake and exhaust mods but what is the fun in that?
