I would get a shorter one and use a heavy spring on one end so it can open a bit.

I was refering to the type that taps into the signal solinoid (not sure correct term) that sits behind the AFC housing. I seen one before and it looks like it is a simple device with a little valve that one could adjust as needed.

iT LOOKS LIKE THIS ONE WILL OPEN SOME? KINDA BY THE RED ARROW ON THE LEFT SIDE? IF I'M RIGHT THE ARM WILL GO TO THE RIGHT SO THAT SMALL AMMOUNT OF SLACK WILL BE ALLOW TO OPEN THE GATE?
