TurnBuckel VS.. J Hook?
TurnBuckel VS.. J Hook?
Been doing alot of reading on this topic, but don't really know what to go with as the J-hook and the turnbuckel both hold the gate Closed what would be better.? I think the J-hook would be better in a way as for the fact that it WILL let the gate open if there is a problem HOWEVER, on the other hand the turnbuckel will hold it compeltely shut causing a lot more Jam! https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ewthread&f=91#
Shocked
Lets hear some thoughts.

Well it all depends on how much boost you are getting. Up here in the high elevation where I'm at, I was able to lock my wastegate shut with the turnbuckle and still stay in the efficiency range of the turbo @34psi.........
Now if you were say at sea level with more air, then you would probably end up over speeding the turbo and damage it.
The J-hook still allows the wastegate to function, but limits the boost to around 30psi. All in all they are about the same, the J-hook is probably the safer way to go, but a turnbuckle will get you a little bit more boost!

I know this is bad, and it is being changed very soon, but I drilled a small "bleed hole" in the wastegate in my hy. some boost sontrollers do basically the same thing so I figured it would work. I forget what size I used but it makes 30 psi now, for free
