I have the truck listed in my sig. I was wondering if I replaced my HY35 with an HX how much would this help me with EGT's? The only reason I ask is because I know where I can get my hands on one cheap. Also if I did this how much would this effect the spoolup since I have an auto. Dont know much about the turbos so any help would be appreciated.

 

I wish I could give you first hand experience but I never got around to swapping the hx on to my truck when I had the comp and 275's. I've compared the 2 turbo's side by side and there's no reason in the world why the hx35 shouldn't help a decent amount with the egt's and still keep the same spoolup. Heck, my KSB-1 spools just as fast as my HY almost.

 

the hx will cool much better in the upper rpms if you tow it will help lower EGTs and for spool up i dont think you will notice much at all maybe a puff of smoke off idle
