With the fuel your running, more air will make alot of difference.

I went from an HY-35 to a KSB-1 and picked up 30 HP on the dyno....but more important is the additional "pull" you will feel at the top end....depending on what turbo you are going to?

You are switching from an HX-35 I think (2000 auto) but are going to more fuel than I did when I made my switch...so should be at least 30 hp.

Which new turbo....and is TC all you have done to your tranny?

I always tell people that swapping out to a different turbo, is just like changing Cmas in a gasser.

Your usefull RPM range will definatly change, with a 90% gurantee loss of power below 1,500RPM.

Although, with a turbo change you will move your useable RPM band around, it's usually for the better. The stock turbo is not efficient above 2,700RPM, even with stock power, but it sure comes on really nice at 1,600RPM.

If you wouldn't mind a lopey idle, and low power off idle in a gasser with a cam, you will like changing to a bigger turbo on your diesel.

Injectors and "chips" change how much power your truck can make, Heads/Pistons/Turbo(s)/Headgaskets change where, and how your truck makes HP/TQ.

A truck with 150HP injectors, and a 120HP chip with a stock turbo will feel lightning fast in town, and only so-so on teh highway. A truck with twins, or a large single will feel awfully slow in town (light to light), but will be wicked fast on the highway, and towing.

Hope this helps,,
Merrick
