Turbo Poll!
The 66 turbos seem to work a lot better on the 3rd gen trucks as far as streetability, lag and such.
I voted for the new HTT 62. My brother and I have had good luck with the HTT 62/14 on his truck. His 99 made 545hp, has great street manners. and it tows just fine. You have to watch the egts on long grades but it is nothing your foot can't handle. I would much rather let out a little on long grades than wait for it to spool everytime you stop and go.
Another $.02 for ya, since you wanted a more specific answer.

(flame suit on) I know it's not the most popular, but for a mildly fueled truck I love my hybrid, wish I could afford an S300 variant from II or HTT, etc., but for my budget the little hybrid does a good job towing, hopefully I can one day jump on up the ladder, but for now this thing is doin' a surprisingly good job, Dusty

I agree here
a 62/12 combo or a 64/14 is tolerable and a good startin point for a charger upgrade, they have been proven and will probably make a wicked twin setup with a 3B or a 400 under them
I havent updated my charger yet i know, but this is my opinion off of what i have read....

I plan on getting a turbo and quiting the mods. (now that we're pregnant). Shhhhh! Hardly no ones knows. The wife told me to do what I wanted and then the fun is over. So, I want to make a good choice when I purchase one 'cuase if I don't like it, tough, she said. I planned on Jammer IV's and a turbo at the same time, but we'll have to see about that since SOMEONE BLEW THEIR TRANNY and might have to forfeit the sale of those sticks! I'll completely understand if he does!
So, looks like the majority likes the HTB2-64-14 or the II 62 Super. The only difference is about $500!!!!
Has anyone ran both of these on the same truck and can tell me what differences I'll notice? It would have to be a lot of difference to justify an extra $500 or so. However, the t-shirt is a good incentive....
Also, I just put a 4" down pipe on my HX-35, and now I'll have to buy another one right? When I install either of these turbos, I will need a new down pipe and what else? Does everything else bolt up? Stock manifold? AFE II box?

My input is that your price on the HTB2 looks about $200 high, maybe a little more depending on who you are dealing with. I like HT's reasonable pricing to move up or down if you didn't choose the right housing, etc. $200 and you can get the turbo dialed in if you ordered the right one to start with. You are not left holding the bag or having to sell your turbo and buy another. They are pleasant to deal with in tech support too.
Good luck,
Good luck,

Good luck,
I just put an S300 from Piers on my truck and what a difference. Mine's an auto and the lag is barely noticeable but the part throttle and top end are way better. It's also got a whole different sound to it that's kinda' cool too!!!
Can't wait to put the RV275's on next.

I voted 'Other'
I'm with Dusty! If all your adding is Injectors....all you need is a 35/40 with a 14 cm2 turbine housing. I would take the money saved, if you want to spend it, and buy F-1's Mach Injectors!
If you do the PS62/14, you don't need the 'super' or 'special'. or what ever it is. The Phat Shaft turbos are great but overkill, IMO, for your injectors.

not to mention the 35/40 looks really good coupled with an s400 or HT3B l8er on!!!!
if you do decide to go the "other" route for sure pm me I have an HX40 style DP w/clamp if you still need one, but you really outta look into the hybrids a bit more, that's a bunch of $ left to spend on other go fast or look good goodies, not to mention you can reuse your DP, I have more than enough air w/my hybrid for all the fuel in my sig., & the old Blue Chip will surely throw some fuel at it!!, my highest recorded egt was a hair over 1000 degrees post turbo & that was making 36psi of boost so I figure 1000 + the usual 300 degrees =1300 then add 10 degrees for every pound of boost over 20 & that would be another 160 degrees, so roughly 1460 degrees( can't remember where I got those figures, someone correct me if I'm wrong) with a wasetegate that needs to be adjusted very badly, seems like the hybrid cools pretty good for the $, I'll also add that the peak boost & egt's were recorded while loaded pretty heavy ( 24' tandem axle dual wheeled flatbed with a 242 Cat skid steer & bucket, pallett forks, & auger) & while pulling that up about a 2 mile grade that's nice & steep(not sure what % grade??) but it's a tough pull at any rate, anyway I was quite surprised at the little hybrid & for the $ I don't see how you could go wrong, & once again I wanna add that my opinions are obviously not based on sticking a hybrid on a 5-600hp truck by any means, but say a comp & some 275 horse sticks & you're just about going overboard by running anything much larger(once again, this is just in my opinion) but I do believe that you'd be more than satisfied with your plans for your truck with alot less $ spent on a charger, (flame suit is back on!!! LOL) Dusty
