Question turbo elbow

does anybody know about the turbo orifice that allows you to control boost. Thinking about installing it but not sure of the pros and cons. Thanks

I'm running one and i think it operates great. My HX35 would only spool up to about 26 lbs. After I installed the boost elbow, it'll get up to 35 lbs.

There's no downside that I see. You can make one. Just take your current brass elbow and drill and tap it to fit an allen screw. Once you get it set, I'd seal the screw with something so there's no air leakes; but sealing is probably not even important.

i agree, sealing the screw isn't necessary. the bd diesel elbow i purchased has a very small orfice that runs from the side into the threads of the set screw. a relief orfice?????? so if the set screw leaks a little????? oh well??????

personally, i wouldn't take the time to built one. new, they only cost about $25. And, jordan5687, if you get that bd lift pump at the same, the shipping will be a moot piont...... IMHO

Just take your current elbow and drill it, then thread it. I forgot what size bit and tap I used, but it doesn't really matter. Just whatever fits, try to stick to standard sizes so it's easy to find a screw for it later. Then go to the hardware store and find an allen screw that fits.

Should look something like this when finished:

They also have them on ebay:

the stock elbow on mine didn't have an area to drill. it was more of a brass pipe curved with a little casting squared off for wrench use. it was just easier to buy a new one......

Oh really? Do I just have a weird stock elbow? Mine looks just like the one in the picture, minus all the teeth on the hose barb.

Naw, don't worry about sealant. If you really want, I'd use blue locktite or some Permatex anti-seize.

It's called a BD Performance Elbow Orfice. I didn't find it listed on their site either. I did find it on their price sheet. While on their site go to the ram section, then look at the lower right area of the page. You'kll see the price sheets. It's a pdf. file.......

You will need more fuel. Without more fuel your boost levels won't change at all. I know from experience.
