Turbo

I know someone who has a hx 35 turbo with a 16 cm opening. This turbo is nonwastegated. He is selling it for 80 bucks. I have an exhaust brake and dont want to loose it. Will the nonwastegated turbo give me a problem? Is this a good deal or should I wait for a wastegated turbo? help

Re:Turbo

I'm going to tell it like it is...The Hx35 16cm, is not going to do much or anything for you. In addition, an HX35 ( whatever the housing size is) should not be run safely over 32psi. The fact that it is not wastegated, tells me it may have already been run in excess????
The old saying is "if its too good to be true, its probably no good!"

Save your $80.00 towards a PDR HX-40.

Steve

Re:Turbo

the turbo is brand new and never been used. I now run 37 at wot and I would think that the bigger housing would lower psi. I dont know. Do you still think I would run 37 psi with the 16 cm compared to the 12 cm?

Re:Turbo

On my stock turbo, does the wastegaste plug in to something? When I install the new turbo that is non wastegated, will I have to block anything?

Re:Turbo

The only thing you will have to block would be the hose comeing from the pipe that goes into the intercooler. I think thats where the 24v WG from. it should be a small metal or rubber line.
DM01
