Transmission Issue?
A good friend of mine has a '98 2500 4x4 ext. cab cummins. The transmission was getting sloppy so he had a suncoast/transgo hybrid installed, the converter is a "double disk heavy duty" says suncoast. With about 1500 miles on it the converter exploded, and suncoast is saying that the "smoke switch" or converter lockup switch we installed kept the secondary tcc clutch locked up. Therefore killing it, the switch is installed on wire B11 comming off the PCM and the trans relay has the jumper wire. Just like the instructions that we found on DTR show and explained to do for this switch to work properly, But suncoast says that we have to buy their relay box to make the TCC lockup on demand work properly. Any idea's is this correct or is suncoast just finding reasons not to warranty the converter? Im told by suncoast that it is a 42RE trans i don't even know if this is correct. I need some ideas/advice? Please!
Thanks
Chris
