trans up grade qs

I am thinking of a new t/c and valve body, I am at 88k miles now the trans feels reel good but it has a hughs deep pan and I want to make sure that it doesnt already have a vb, is there any way? whos/what tc and vb do yall recomend? I will be doing a lot more towing (15k) and want to know how to make the trans last with my mods.

At 88K, an upgraded VB will most likely kill any internal seals that are marginal. That said, you may be just fine. It's a guess until you actually install the parts.

I would run it like it is until you get ready for a full rebuild and do it all at once and do it right.

Mine shifts real hard from 1-2 with the VB Ive got but I dont think all aftermarket vb's do that.

ok, run it till its broke. I am looking at about 350-375 hp eventually wich puts me right in the middle of their transmitions, go big and dont break it? cause my calculations show that if I pull the 14K trailer on the 7600 Ib truck I'm over their standard duty trans by about 1600. Would yall recomend a single or triple disc?

i think with a torque converter and valve body you should be good. if your towing heavy a aftermarket tranny cooler would be a good life savor too.

A transgo shift kit to up the line pressure a little will go a long ways in preserving your tranny internals.

Call up a tranny builder direct and see what they recommend. I bet Dave would steer you towards a single disk converter, valve body, upgraded apply lever, and billet input shaft. Maybe a few extra clutches for the overdrive pack if you aren't in the habit of selecting tow/haul when you hit the grades.

Single disc until you NEED a triple. But Goerend makes good triple discs from what I hear. So you should be safe either way.
