If you weld in a "bung" in the pan, make sure the probe won't come in contact with anything inside when it screws in place. On my '98, I came very close. Can't say where the best place would be.

just buy the "T" fitting from genos garage. cut the "hot" line from trans (underneath radiator) , install "T" and temp probe, run your wire to guage and you're done.

I'm selling a Swagelok tee fitting for $15 shipped. Just like the one that Diesel Manor sells for $45.

Putting the sensor in the hot line is the best and probably easier than putting it in the pan if you don't already have a drain plug installed.

I have one of the "T" fittings from Geno's in a box in my garage. If you want to pay the shipping, I'll give it to you.

Do you have to drain all the tranny fluid to install one of those ts or the line from DieselManor?

I don't think you have to drain all of it. But some will come out.

I think I lost around 2 quarts just fixing a leaking temp probe in my line with the port.

I believe they lost 2 quarts when they installed the line as well.
