Trans Go Shift Kit
I am nursing a rather tired auto transmission in my truck and just wanted to say that the Trans Go kit really cleaned up what problems I was having. IMHO a good band-aid till I can afford them high dollar transmissions. My 1-2 shift is strong and firm, all of my shifts before were at 3200rpm's WOT in almost all gears and very sloppy, now I never go over 3000 on any gear and slam in there nice and solid. I am in love with my truck again. For those folks who just want to tighten things up and never plan on crazy power this is it. Not for the squeemish, you do some radical things to your valve body(drills and grinders). Overall I love it. ;D

Actually ScottRod it is one kit, you have a alot of options on how you want it to shift. Different springs, holes in the Valve Body drilled larger, different pistons in the Valve Body, I set mine up for very firm and positive shifts. All of my forward gears while under light acceleration act very firm with no jerking, all the shifts seem to be at just the right time without lugging the engine down. NOW with that said, If you hammer down on it from a stop you have a whole different animal on your hands, it shifts very hard and fast, there is NO lag whatsoever between shifts, they slam in and your ground speed seems to pick up very fast. It may just be wishful thinking, but I feel the truck is quicker now from a dead stop. I will say that while I was in the transmission I adjusted the bands, installed a drain plug and a temp sensor for my new guage. Killed some birds with one stone.

Hello
This sounds like something I have been thinking about and talking about for my wife's truck. It has one of those slush boxes in it for a transmission. ;D :P
Just kidding here those comments where not meant to offend anyone.

I would like to know where you bought it and the cost. If you can't post the information of the site could you PM and let me know.

John-P
Is this the same kit you used in your truck??

Thanks
See Ya
Chris

Re:Trans Go Shift Kit
I installed the TFOD kit with a TCS converter on our 24v 3500 at 33k for less than 5 bills and that was including the cost of the ATF. I did take my time doing the install…it took 3 half-days. First day to pull, the next day to install the kit, and the last day to reinstall. The valve body and seal work should be done early in the morning, long before you break out the beer. Shortly after the install (two days) the wife and I took the truck on a 4500 mile vacation pulling our 25’ TT through the mountains of the Northwest. We were very happy with the truck’s new character. The truck has 275’s and comp and the rest of the typical stuff. On a side note, I very seldom used the comp past level one sub-level one. Actually I ran the truck mostly with the comp off.

scott, i've been looking into this a lot lately...did you feel uncomfortable grinding away at the valve body? are the line pressures a lot higher? (enough to hold the lock up clutch). i'd like a nice, firm shift, but not something that's going to snap my neck...

I drilled the hole to the MAX and it slams the gears under hard acceleration, under light throttle it firm and a lil rough. Automatics in my old school racing philosophy should be harsh and fast......bam..bam..bam..gone.
Re:Trans Go Shift Kit
I had a Trans-go installed on my truck at a local tranny shop. It firmed up the shifts, but not to the point of snapping my neck. Towed the 5th wheel approximately 2,000 miles since then and am pleased. However, I am anxious to see how everything holds up when I add an Edge EZ to the mix in the Spring. As stated by others, for the cost, it seems to be a worthwhile band aid at least.

I started at noon and was done by 6pm, while I had the pan down I installed a drain plug, trans temp sender, adjusted bands, changed filter and fluid ofcourse. Pay close attention to how you took things apart, there are tons of pieces when it is all apart. Be very careful of the checkballs in the VB, I almost lost them 6 times.
Overall if you pay attention, it is very easy to install.
