Exclamation Torque Convertor Trouble

I have a 01 CTD ext cab long bed with a auto tramission and 125K miles. Currently it has a quadzilla 120hp chip, stacked with a diablo powerpuck, fass 150 pump, 155hp BD injectors and 6in stacks. My problem is when i accerlerate hard you can feel the torque convertor shutter. At about 30 mph if you put your foot in it, it hesitates before it starts to accerlerate. I have recently changed the tranny fluid an filter, it shows no grit or particles anywhere. Would it be OK to put a Billet TC and tripple disc clutch in it and have the tranny flushed an add lucas to it or have it completly rebuilt?

It's probably more than the TC giving way.

Putting in a TC and VB is a band-aid at best with the amount of fuel you are running.

You need a complete transmission from the vendor of your choice.

What do you use the truck for....guess I'm "assuming" it's more of a hotrod than a tow pony since you are doing 30mph stomps. With your mileage I would drop the trans and go through it. It's time. I started slipping my converter when I added RV275 injectors to my EZ. I knew it was coming and had already built a trans with Dave Goerends help and parts. Mine is a pretty mild build, but I only look at the towing aspects. I'm not out to win any stoplight races. That said the new trans works great and tows waaaaayyyy better. I tore down my old one and as you'll find, there will be the prettiest color purple/blue ring around the front of your stock converter from the heat of your clutch slipping. Other than that the internals of my 82K trans were spottless. You could still read part numbers on the clutches. I already have that trans "freshened" and is sitting on a shelf.....just in case.

Sled pulling.....I would be calling one of the builders (I would call Goerend and nobody else, but that's my opinion) and tell them straight up what you're doing and what you expect. You're going to need some different upgrades than someone like myself that simply wants to get the toys (trailers) from point A to B without whimpering from the engine mods.
