I just bought a 99 TCD with the auto and am having a problem with the torque convertor loc-up. Some times it locks ok sometimes it will slip and slowly engage. Whats the syptoms of a tc going bad?? or could this be something electronic?? TIA

 

From your description it sounds like the lockup clutch in the TC is going south. However, there is a solenoid in the transmission that fails and will cause erratic lockup. <br><br>The best bet is find a good transmission shop in your area and have it checked. Save time and money and locate a shop that handles DTT transmission upgrades and if you need work, get the best.
