Too much lift pump pressure?
Is there such a thing as a fuel pressure regulator that I can put on downstream from the aftermarket pump? I afraid too much pressure is bad too. What is a good min/max for fuel pressure?
Idle up to 20 is about all i would do. Wot no less than 8psi. I have a walbro pump and a mallory bypass regulator. The walbro makes way to much pressure for the vp but with my regulator i have 17 psi idle and cant go lower than 14 on wot. My regulator has a bypass port so all the extra fuel goes right back to the tank instead of being backed up in the line and pump.

I was wondering about the bypass type regulator. So if I understand it correctly, you have it set up to bleed back to the tank instead of back to the pump inlet?
The mallory i have has one inlet, 3 outlets and a bypass return. They give you 2 plugs for to plug 2 of the outlets. I used 3/8 line for my return and tapped it back into my filler neck. I cut a hole and put a barbed fitting in and then siliconed it. The rest of my fuel line is 1/2 inch from tank to pump. The walbro moves so much fuel that i have to shut my truck off to refuel. First time i refueled it backed up in the filler neck and squirted all over me. It took a few times of getting covered infuel till i learned what was happening
. I did it a few more times after that because i forgot.

I think you won't have problems as long as you stay under 30 psi (maybe more) I have heard of hard start, but I think most of that is more weak IP's than strong LP's. I know of alot of guys run mid to high 20s with no problems
I installed the fass lp and experience hard starts when the weather is warm running 23 lbs idle 19lbs wot. Now my fass seems like it is making excess noise and the pressure surges like crazy back and forth especially when i hit a bump and at wot. I was wondering if anyone had this problem with their fass also? I just put 110 hp injectors in and need a clutch bad and would like to get my fass running right.
I just installed a FASS HPFP and run around 18psi at idle and 15 at WOT. No starting problems yet. This FASS is supplying a new VP so maybe i wont have to shell out that kind of $$ again! I have to admit, the old beast is a real kick in the pants now. I guess it had been going south for a while and i just didnt realize it.
