tires

Here's one for the tire specialists;
What is the tallest tire available for a '97 4x4 without having to change wheel size & maintaining an E load rating?

Off the top of my head, I know Interco makes a TRXUS MT 35x12.50R16LT that's shown as a 10-ply rating, which I would take to be the equivalent of an E. They also list a 37x12.50R16LT as Coming soon. Toyo makes an LT285/75-16 M55 that's E-rated. I'm sure these aren't the only ones, but they're what comes immediately to mind.

Andy,

Have a look at the Toyo M-55's :

http://www.toyocanada.com/products/M55.html

I havent had a set but they are supposed to wear like Iron (100+ kms) , are E rated, come in 285 size, but they are pricey (around $280 a tire). Also, they are more aggressive than the picture shows. Talk to "OK Tire" if interested.

Andy -

Most of the tire manfs. that I found will tell you what size rim the tires will fit. At least on the 2500 the largest I found I could go, without a lift, were the 285s. With 2" or more of lift you should be able to do the 35s or 315s. Your application may be somewhat different being that you have the 3500.

I run 285's

NO rub, but my truck is listed 2 1/2 inches... which is about the same height as your stock 3500. 255/85/16 BFG Mud terrains are close to 33 or about 33 in diameter, i have a friend who runs those on his dually, however its lifted 4 inches.. too tall and tires look too small, but i have seen them on a stock lifted dually, look great thats as tall as i can think of for a dually without any spacers needed

I have 305-70's on mine with no lift. They only rub if I turn full lock.

if you want to go big and bad on a dually.......Buckshot mudder makes a 37X9.50. They look slick and on a common wheel will fit without spacers, just air 'em up to avoid too much bulge.
