thinking of minor mod

Well, I'm thinking, If I don't sell my truck I might modify it slightly. What kind of "box" or modification can I install to get a little more power and better mileage? I always worry about loosing reliability with a modification. I don't necessarily need more power, but better fuel economy would be a plus. I've got 155k miles on my truck. Its totally stock and unmolested at this point. As far as I know, Its still the original lift pump too. And its an auto. My budget is pretty slim, so maybe there isn't a whole lot I can do.

I installed a Diablo Sport Power Puck its not as strong as some others . But I was not wanting something to cause me trouble like some hi powered boxes may cause. I really like it alot. It made the truck alot better. I got it from Summit it was only something like $205. Best money I sent on the truck so far.

You should be able to find an Edge EZ for real cheap on ebay or in the classifieds. Smarty is the way to go, but it might not be in your budget. Gauges are number 1 I think. Also, you could go with a juice/attitude that will give you gauges plus power for a good price if you can find a used unit.

Even on a tight budget you can get a bhaf (do a search) and remove the silencer ring so you can enjoy a little bit of whistle

I think you're on the right track with a timing box. Try the dtr classifieds for deals

I vote for the EZ. You don't realy need gauges for it, and it gives a great increase. I would get a low fuel pressure light, though, at the minimum.

As far as mileage, have not checked it. I would say it has helped it a fuzz but you got to keep your foot out of the new found power...

Remove the intake tube form the turbo. Then remove the lock ring inside and remove the ring.

The juice would be a good deal, or the smarty but be careful with either one, the tranny would be an expensive fix
