Have you read this? Very easy to understand. Did you read any of the other threads that touched this subject that were active a few days ago?

Just use is wisely.

Justin is right, it's so simple even I figured it out. Don't see any trans mods on your truck, the stock convertor isn't much when you go to beating it. I pulled and used the lockup in overdrive low lock and it was like having one more gear. I had quit a few people that knew me ask how many times I shifted going down the track!

I just did mine this weekend. I used a few parts from autozone and took pictures. I will try to host a couple and put up a link.

Mine is an 01 and the drawing / instructions from the TST page were not exactly right when it came to the relay / jumper. It did give me enough detail to figure it out though.

I too have thought about putting one on my truck. If I ever do put one on, I think I'm going to wait till I upgrade my TC though. I'm still sketchy on the TC lock up switch uses and do's and don'ts. I wouldnt know when it was the right time to use the thing.

How is relay/jumper wrong?

I put my jumper where the instructions said and it works fine. I put mine in over three years ago and the instructions have not changed.

I went to do a search on here and the search function was disabled. That's why I posted. I'm well aware of the do and don'ts of this switch and I fully understand the consquences. This is not gonna be something I use everyday, just on the occasional impromptu race from 40-45mph.

My power box has the relay in a different place. It does have a small footnote telling you to use your power box cover as a guide to find the correct relay to pull. That's what I did and it works great.

When I try to follow the instructions for mine the lock up occurs at about 7 mph (when it shifts to second) with the jumper in and then it stalls the engine. If I try it without the jumper it causes my tranny to go into the limp mode. Since I got my new tranny I don't even think about it.

Your not supposed to turn it on until after it's in 2nd gear.

I need one to turn off my TC lockup. While I tow it locks up ( with OD switch off) and I have to push pretty hard to get it to unlock...

So what are the consquences of using the lockup mod??? Is there a problem if used properly?

I did this mod back a couple of months ago, what a difference. It took 6/10s off my 1/4 mile ET.

I wired it a little different though, I used 3 relays. The beauty of this setup is that it uses the brake as a shutoff. (you can, of course, use the switch to turn it off also)I can't find the schematic for this. Maybe someone else knows where to find it?
