Tapped Injection Pump

I tapped my IP last night and it made a huge difference. Driving on like 3 is like 6 was before, twice the smoke and power. I am happy with it.

Not sure what your fuel system is but if you haven't done a relocation on the lift pump od added a pusher or even a FASS your gonna want to do it soon, as tapping the pump is all good but it does put more stress on it and it will need more fuel for lubrication and to keep it cool, or it will cost you. And oh yeah its a lot of fun to, the seat of the pants meter will surely blow out the top....LOL

I have a brand new LP and I Idle around 17-18 and the lowest I have seen I with the chip on 6 was 7psi. I know I am going to need an upgrade. I was thinking about either the fass or the walbro 392. Normal driving is 12-13 psi.

Is your trans stock? I have not tapped the wire on mine yet for fear of the stock slush box.

tapped?

Hi guys, ,new guy to the 24v world here, what does "tapped" the pump mean? I have a currently dead '01 sitting here, (transmission) I have only had the truck a few months........anyway, I have an edge juice w/ att. I was going to install when my trans dumped. (have a georend on the way) Has anyone ever compiled a page on this forum with all the meaning to all the abbreviations that are used with these trucks? Would be helpful...

There's one wire on that edge box that connects directly to the vp44 injection pump. Without it connected that box is good for around 60 hp, but twice that when the wire is connected.

Here's a list of terms: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...n&onlynewfaq=1

Trans

I dont know to much about my trans but when I bought my truck with 47k on it I was told It just had some work done to it. What I dont know. The truck has shifted hard as a rock since I bought it. I have had the juice on it for almost 20k wire not tapped on 6 hot mode. No problem. I am planning on getting a built trans when sping roles around because I want to do jammer 5s and a big turbo.

well ridepayson if you have a good tranny on the way then tapping the wire will be fine, just up grade the fuel delivery system, as it will strain the vp44 without it and that is a 1200.00 fix job. Also have fun its a fun ride until it isn't enough, but then again is it ever enough!!
