Taping the pump wire for a comp box

The truck that I am working on only has 20,000 miles on it and I don't want to void the warrenty by splicing the pump wire. I talked to Edge and they said that you can tap into the wiring harness, but doesn't know what wire. Does anyone know what wire it would be?

Thanks

Once you tap the wire your warranty is gone. The dealership's know where to look for those. But, if you still wanna do it, it's the top wire closest to the head.

Yeah I know that the warrenty will be gone, but according to Edge they have had guys tap the wiring harness that goes into the pump so the warrenty is not voided.

When the pump goes back for the warrenty work the wire that you are talking about stays with the pump and is rejected at the manufacture because of the tampering.

Nope, there is no way to tap into the solenoid wire except on the wire itself or by getting a pump cover that allows you to pierce the circuit board.

The solenoid wire never leaves the platform of the pump itself so there is no way to hide it.

Unless you have a very late '02 the warranty is almost up anyway and if you are asking a question like this you probably shouldn't be thinking about tapping the wire.

Go with the pump cover. When I used the wire "tap" it had a poor connection. BD pump cover guaranteed the connection and is the best you got in regards to "hiding" the box tap. Hope this helps

It used to be the best at hiding. Now the dealerships know about the pump covers.
