Tailgate Vice

Was thinking about mounting a vice on the inside of my tailgate, not sure if it will work due to the latch mechanism and also not being able to through-bolt it. Maybe some big lags.. Anyone else mounted a vice, and where/how?

Seen one that goes into the reciever hitch on a guys truck who did part time plumbing, he had a chain vice, reagular vice and a thread machine he could slide in. Looked pretty sharp and he could store and secure them in his flush mount tool crib in the back of his truck. He also had removable pipe carriers that slid into recievers on the side of his truck. Goodluck,,,Rick

Follow the military's lead and mount it on a swivel to an extended bumper. Makes a good excuse to have to get a fancy bumper out a the deal.

I would also use it in the receiver.. tailgate is too flimsy IMO.

That's not a bad idea, for a receiver mount. I guess I could try to make several pieces that slip together, and that way I could take it apart and store everything in the cross box.I'll try to weld something up, if it turns out good I'll post a pic.
