Superchip Tuner w/comp Question
Superchip Tuner w/comp Question
I installed my guages and Comp tonight. I put on an Isspro Pyro, fuel pressure, and boost guage. I already had a tranny temp. I also wired the Comp up and removed the Superchips. Got it done in about 3 hrs. Everything is working great. The comp is awesome. One question though, anyone know if I can just use the Superchips to tune for tire size? Or do I have to load one of the performance programs? If so, would I be alright running the lowest Superchips program with the comp?
I ran a superchips programmer version 1.0 stacked with my comp for a while, the stack worked well, but the engine rattled alot. The Superchips went bad & froze up, but it froze up before changing my tire size back to stock. sent it to Superchips & they sent me back the tuner with the new software version 1.10 which didn't work well at all. I'd just sell the superchips & forget it.
I have a friend who had the same scenario & he did something crazy. He adjusted his programmer back to stock & unplugged it before it could adjust tire size back to stock. I am not recommending to do this, but it did work on his truck. The Superchips does its programming in steps, first loads the program then adjust tire size second.
When I stack my comp box and the superchip all I got has problems. I tried running every program, with the box wire tapped/not tapped. The problem is that superchip advances the pump and so does the comp box. The smarty is a better stack. Today, I have no clue where my superchip programer is. You might be going down that road as well. I think that programmer lead to the slow death of my ecm. Once I tired to put that program in and the programmer crashed, my ecm never work right again. It could also been a bad ecm but who can prove that. Good luck, you might have different luck with the stack, as some trucks like it some don't. Mine didn't.

they might charge you a half hour labor or more, roughly 90$ per hour, even though it takes about 5 minutes tops. depending on how nice the service advisor is they might just do it for free. they did it for free at the other dealership i worked out. just call and ask.
