superchip stack?
superchip stack?
I have guages, reliable fuel delivery, 4" exhaust, and DTT transmission. I think I can safely add some more power. I have a superchip programmer which I can't really complain about. Mind you I have never driven anything different. I tow a couple times a year ( 8,000 lbs boat trailer) and mostly daily drive. Would I be better off with another electronic with boost fooler like Quadzilla, Comp, or TST? Maybe buy some DDP level 3 injectors. What do you think?

The superchips doesn't do boost fooling so you want a fuel only box like a tst or blue chip before adding injectors. You could of course go with a fuel/timing box to replace the superchips like a quad or edge box.
So does that mean if I add a V5 and keep the Schip that it would just add more timing which is not needed or beneficial? To clarify I think AlanF is trying to find out what options are available to "add" to the superchip? If not, I would like to know as I like the Schip. thanks
if you add the v5 to the s-chips you get super low end grunt....way more than I ever see with my drag comp. the downer is it accelerates so hard the cruise control is irritating as it surges badly.
I never exp timing knock, not with the v5, not with the comp.

I stacked a Comp with a Superchips version 1.0 before, worked well. I sent the super back to get fixed & they sent me back version 1.10, that didn't work well at all. I bet that you have version 1.0.

no, you will have to reflash the ecm to get rid of the program, or find a s-chip programmer that has a program loaded into a truck, you MIGHT be able to save your program as the "stock" program in the tuner......never tried that so it is a maybe at best, but a reflash will 100% clear it, and pulling the batts will 100% not clear it.
ok, thanks for the info. I thought if the batts were changed or I had the ECU checked for codes at Autozone or one of those places and they cleared any codes it would "reset" everything. Thanks for the clarification. Not to change the thread but I'm guessing a Smarty may be my only other upgrade option for programming. Merry Christmas to the family.
I have a friend with a 99 and only mods are a super chips tuner and holley blue since the stock died. He has a edge ez coming and i think he plans on running the ez only and doing away w/ the S.C.? Anyone ran them together, is this a nice stack? Seems like a few years ago in a TDR they dynoed the S.C. and hypertech tuners and the S.C. only did like 14rwhp and 98 or torq. any one remember that. Anyway, i was wondering about that stack for him. Thoughts??
Any one? Hes not in to hot rodding but hed prob. try it if any one else had, and he knew it worked alright. Prob. put the middle tune in it, plug in the ez and forget about it right. Ive heard a lot of neg. about the S.C. but you would think maybe stacked it would perform better?? Anyone
