Superchip or Smarty?

Smarty vs Superchip info wanted:

Recently had a dead pedal incident w a code 0500 with extremely high temps here in SC. I pulled the VA Plu n Power off the truck and reinstalled my void sticker thinking I may have a fuel LP or VP problem. I thought may be between the heat and the fact the VA PnP has been on 2 different trucks since 2000 it may getting tired. Cleared the code and have been driving stock with no problems except low power.

Road test w/ the vulcan fuel pressure guage today and fuel pressures seem to be normal for stock. 12 psi idle, 9psi cruising 40-50 mph in the hills, and between 6 & 7 psi WOT.

So I've been thinking of something different like Supchips plug in or the Smarty. The both will recalibrate the speedo for the oversized 285's recently installed. It appears they both add approx the same HP. What are your expriences with the Superchip and the Smarty?

The smarty is in a league of its own. All the non-wire tap boxes add about the same hp, but none of them fuel on the low end like the smarty.

Comparing superchips to a smarty is like comparing 4 karat diamond ring to a cracker jack ring. They both may be round and have a sparkling thingy on it but when you give your girl the real thing is when it truly shows it's value. Same with the smarty. It may add the same power and look the same as the superchips but when you hook the smarty up to your truck it's like giving your girl that 4 karat diamond. BIG DIFFERENCE in the response.

Well I ordered a Smarty last night. That was the way I leaning before I opened this thread, plus I did more reading on the subject.

I'm sure it's probably in the directions but how easy is it to set the parameters back to stock or adjust the different power levels? It looks like you just hook it up to the OBD port, every time you want to change and select "stock" or other power options. Where as the old VA PnP was on all the time.

Thanks for your help.

You got it. Turn the key to ON but don't start the truck, plug the smarty into the OBD port, push the buttons. Very, very, very simple. Takes all of about 1.5 minutes to load a program.

Yes it's stackable and it should be a very nasty combination.
