super40's?

A search only got me two hits. Has anyone used one? Do they have the breakage problem of the older 40's. Does $950 sound too high? I think it would work well with the mods I have.

Thanks,

Jeremy

I have a super 40 on my truck, i paid 1095 and that was with the 4in downpipe and clam. Your mods sound very much like mine. The turbo works well, but i am having a boost issue with it, i can not make more then 30psi and it will not even hold there, it usally falls back to somewhere between 25 and 28psi. I either have a boost leak someplace or the wastegate is not fuctioning properly. I was told the wastegate was set at 40psi of boost. My truck does take off though when the boost comes on, i just need to get the problem solved, hope this helps

Is it a modified HX40 or what? Or did it come on a factory application? Just wondering what it is, heard it mentioned before but never paid attention enough to know what it is exactly.

i have one of the new super 40s that i am using for my top charger on my twin set up. i like it and seems to spool nice. i know its not apples for apples but i like how it drives with that even before the big charger is working. i also have been told they are pretty much like the old 40s but with a slightly diff. shaft and the balance the wheels and shaft after it is all assembled. this way it is perfectly true unlike balancing parts then assembling to make a unit with some slight variatons in balance and hence they may have fixed the breakage problem. but hey thats just my two cents!!!

Shoe, and Dig funny to see you guys posting together.. as Shoe you asked me about a 40 a while back.. about purchasing one... and Dig was the one I was thinking of if you didn't purchase it... Dig.. I think that S40 would be perfect for your truck.. but I can say that I've even seen one... but any improved 40 should work great on your truck... Shoe, I think it would work good one yours.. but U could probably handle a little more.. but it could get smokey... All depend on what you want.. and how you drive... (Shoe.. that didn't sould like a bad price on the s40...)

this is what I was told on the super 40.. Bryn thanks for the info. I can get it for 795 shipped to me, that is probably the best deal I can find for the turbo if I go larger I am looking at $$$$$$$$ thanks again.

The Super 40 turbo is made to replace the factory standard HX35W on the Dodge Ram series. It will give substantial increases in power and torque to your engine. The benefits of the Super 40 turbo are that it is easy to install, it has higher boost capability, and wider map width (for more effecient boost across the Rpm range).

We also talked to our distributor abotut hte turbo and your engine specs. They said that this would be the right turbo for your application. Anything bigger would be "undrivable on the street", it is a very powerful turbo and all ofthe feedback they have received has beed very good on this turbo. They can not keep them in stock, the next supply of them will be in in approximately 2 weeks, and if we are not on the waiting list for one we will have to wait for the next order to get one. Let us know if you have any other questions or if you would like to be put on a waiting list for one. Thank you,

i had thought about this but i think i am gonna wait and go BIG.

i will have a comp on within a week or so, with a set of DD3's (110hp)but my ultimate fueling plans are to add a MAD ECM and eventually swap dd3's for some Mach 4's or mach 5's when i have the turbo to supply the air. i am most likely gonna end up with a full on B1 or a sledpuller by the time im done. with the comp and dd3's i will be maxing the stock turbo so its time to save for the big boy!

Off subject, but its my thread. Getblown that bumper rules. Wasn't there a thread or something showing the details? Some more info would be greatly appreciated.
