Steps for access of pickup bed?

Getting older is no fun. The pickup bed of my 4x4 dually is so high, that in the next few years, I will not be able to get a leg up and into it. My wife now has to crawl in to the front of the box from the rear compartment of the quad - not a pretty sight to say the least.

Is there a step, other than those from the extended nerf bars, that will help access the rear of the truck bed?

OldBilly

I use a Rubbermaid plastic folding step ladder to get into my bed and keep it stowed it in the cab. It also helps getting my elderly father-in-law in to the cab as well. I can use it too for working in the engine bay.

Here is one link to the wheel steps. There are other manufacturers of this type, but this will give you an idea. These ones do not use straps, they are all metal. They are very handy for getting into the engine bay.

http://www.affjaxx.com/products/wheelsteps.asp

I know I have seen steps that attach to your hitch receiver when the tailgate is up at local truck accessory stores.

Re:Steps for access of pickup bed?

Why climb in at all . I purchased a bedslide last year, now I never have to climb into the truck bed. ;D This has been one of the best investments I have made. 8) I cary 1200 lbs in my truck every day and have to access it constantly. Just unlock the Bedslide and pull her out. You can also see my custom hitch step in the pic. Black powder coat with polished diamond plate made by member Big K.
