steering stabalizer

I was just wonderning if there is a difference in steering stabalizers, and shocks? I need a new stab and i got 3 shocks that i cant use no more that only have 1 week on the truck. Just thinkin here.

Yes their different, what I was told is steering stabilizers have equal valving for both directions and regular shocks a valved to dampen one way more than the other
