Question Steering Stabilizer

I'm searching for a dual setup. What are some options? I can't seem to get a part number for the Rancho dual for my application.

I had the Skyjacker set-up on mine and really liked it. It helped a lot with the 35's I was running especially in loose stuff.

No steering stabilizer dual or otherwise is going to cure the dreaded death wobble. It may help some, but not fix it.

I have the dual kit from sj too, but mine are up top. I think the kit was around 60 bucks from 4 wheel parts.

you need to adjust caster if you want to get rid of death wobble...

I have heard that a dual is no better than a single aftermarket stabilizer. Anyone had experience with BOTH and can offer their input?

I would imagine with something like a 35 or 36 inch tire you would be fine with a single stabilizer.

Like said above, death wobble wont go away with a steering stabilizer... Death wobble is usually caused by a worn trac-bar, tie-rods, bad alignment or even unbalanced tires...all stabilizers do is mask problems in the steering.

Now as far as single or dual stabilizers go, Ive run both...with 33", 36" and 38" tires...and IMHO, I think they don't make much of a difference. If your steering is set up correctly, then you shouldnt need one. If its just one of those things that makes you feel better, dont waste money on a dual kit...its a waste. A single is fine. Im running 38" tires right now and no stabilizer at all and the truck drives just fine everywhere. I used to be under the impression that I needed them, but they kept getting bashed on the trail, so I just ditched them all together and havent missed them since...been running without one for more than a year.

I agree with oakman, the reason I put my stabilizer on is just to try and improve my steering. I really dont think it helped that much , but I left them on there anyways cuz I am lazy

I've got a dual set-up from Skyjacker; replaced the stock stabilizer after 9K miles. 30K on the truck now.

On normal road surfaces, the dual doesn't make a difference. However, it helps alot at higher speeds on dirt and pot-holed roads, or roads with raised seams and worn ruts in the asphalt.

Is it worth it? For the kind of driving I do, absolutely. Your kind of driving? Who knows?

I see that you have a 2002 also. The application guide only shows up to 2001. What part number did you use?

The '01 kit will fit an '02. You will have to rotate the passenger-side brace by 90 degrees, however, and mount it on the other bar. It works.

I'll emphasize -- if you're driving on normal road surfaces, it won't make a difference. Don't waste your money. It's largely an off-road/bad road item.
