stealth cover?

so im trying to do it all right, i do some offroading so would it be worth it to get the stealth cover fort the vp44, and how does it work, read the install so now the red would go to the wire that would tape the wire on the vp and the black goes to???

Here's my explanation...the main power/signal wire coming from whatever wiretap box you have would go to the threaded post on the Stealth cover....instead of tapping a wire in the factory loom.
I've had no problems with mine fwiw, and there's a pic or two of it in my gallery.

If you're off-roading the truck, I'd solder the wire. Using the stealth cover has been associated with reliability problems and you don't want to be stuck out in the boonies with a dead VP44...

The stealth cover is always going to allow for a better overall connection to that pump wire. As long as you dont tighten the screw in too far there is no reliability issues. You just have to make sure that you use a test light when you are making the connection. You turn it until the light just comes on and then go 1/8th of a turn more. That way you wont have any issues.
